Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, including the things we deliberately do not promise.

Will my accounts be safe from bans?

We don't promise that, and you should distrust any tool that does. Orbe gives every account a consistent, real-looking machine and its own IP; whether an account survives depends on the platform, the proxy, and how the account is used. Orbe lowers the avoidable technical risks — it does not decide the outcome.

Does the automation avoid detection?

Orbe's SDK and MCP drive the browser through the real input path, so there is no CDP session, no navigator.webdriver and no open debug port — the automation trace is not there. But removing the trace does not change how a platform judges an account. Treat it as one fewer risk, not a guarantee.

Do you promise a specific fingerprint score?

No. Scores on checking sites are a rough signal, not a goal — a "perfect" score can itself look unusual. Orbe aims for fingerprints that belong to a real, coherent machine and stay consistent, which is what matters in practice. Be wary of any tool that sells a number.

Why does BrowserScan show 90%, not 100%?

For a profile in Vietnam, BrowserScan takes off 10% for "Different time zone": it compares Asia/Saigon (the name Chrome on Windows reports) with Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh (what it infers from the IP) as if they were two different zones. They are the same zone — in the IANA time zone database Asia/Saigon is the older name that points to Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh — so this is a quirk of that checker.

What you'll see: an overall score of 90%, and in the list of deductions a single line along the lines of "−10% Different time zone", with the browser time zone shown as Asia/Saigon and the IP time zone as Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh.

Real Chrome on Windows in Vietnam also gets 90%, so 90% is the ceiling there. Orbe deliberately doesn't rename the time zone just to reach 100%: that would differ from real Chrome, and other detection pages could catch the mismatch.

Is Orbe free?

Yes. Orbe is free with no limit on the number of profiles, every feature included, automation (the SDK and MCP) too. How many profiles you open at once is limited only by your computer's memory. Create an account at app.orbebrowser.com, download Orbe for Windows, and start.

Orbe 1.0.17 is free, with no profile limit. We keep updating it, free for everyone. Older versions update themselves to 1.0.17.

What are the known limits?

Known limitations:

  • Rotating the IP through the IP2.VN API has not been tested on 1.0.17: after a rotation, some open connections may keep using the old IP until they close; if you need certainty, close and reopen the profile after rotating.
  • Third-party (non-IP2.VN) proxies can be used on up to 20 profiles per account. A profile outside that limit still opens but runs without its proxy, on your real IP (see Third-party proxies).
  • The Python SDK's set_profile_proxy has no rental_id parameter; use the Local API or MCP to assign an IP2.VN port.
  • On profiles with a proxy, WebRTC pages don't see the small IPv6 lookup error that Chrome shows on IPv4-only networks. Your IP is not exposed; this is only a difference in one detail.
  • If your profile storage drive is disconnected, Orbe shows a notice at start and an empty profile list until you reconnect the drive and restart Orbe. Your profiles are not deleted.
  • When a flow or the SDK types capital letters or symbols, the page sees the character key without a separate Shift key press.
  • When converting a script that opens or closes the browser more than once, the order of steps can come out wrong. Review a converted flow before running it. A flow that keeps going after a Close step stops with a technical error message.
  • When you scroll with a mouse wheel, Orbe fires slightly fewer scroll events per wheel notch than Chrome while the page is animating (usually about one fewer, sometimes more). Scroll distance, timing and the end-of-scroll event match Chrome.
  • On profiles without a proxy, the first round of WebRTC candidate gathering often finishes before the public (STUN) address arrives, so a page that reads candidates once may see only the local address, unlike Chrome. Your real IP is not exposed by this; profiles with a proxy are not affected.
  • Automated typing rhythm doesn't closely imitate a real person.
  • Workflows don't support file downloads, Google Sheets, 2FA codes or captcha solving — those steps are skipped with a warning.
  • Windows only.

How often is the browser updated?

Chrome ships a new stable release about every two weeks, and Orbe follows it so your profiles keep claiming the version most people run. Falling behind the crowd is itself a measurable signal, so the cadence is a commitment, not a nice-to-have. The browser ships inside Orbe, and each update carries the app and the browser together — they install quietly in the background and are verified before they apply — see Updates.

Can I use my existing automation tools?

Orbe's own SDK and MCP are the recommended path — they drive the browser without leaving an automation trace (see Automation & SDK). We suggest not attaching CDP-based tools to an Orbe profile, since that adds exactly the trace Orbe removes. For your own scripts there is also a Local API on this computer, which goes through the same channel — no CDP.

What's the difference between my Orbe key and a proxy token?

Your Orbe API key (orbe_…) is the only Orbe credential — it signs the browser in to your account. If you rent proxies from a provider that issues its own token, that is a separate credential that goes in its own field. They are kept apart on purpose, and one is never sent where the other belongs. No one at Orbe will ever ask for your account password, and the browser never asks for it.

Is my data safe if I lose my machine?

Profiles are stored encrypted on disk. Your fingerprints live on the server and are handed out per profile, so unpacking the app does not reveal the whole library.

What does Orbe send back?

Diagnostic reports can be turned off. License integrity checks are always sent; they contain only a check code, the app version and your key ID, along with the IP address they were sent from.

To stop diagnostic reports, turn off Send diagnostic reports in Settings → Diagnostic reports (it is on by default).

Which platforms does Orbe support?

Orbe is Windows only (10/11, 64-bit).

Troubleshooting

A profile won't open

The most common cause is the proxy: Orbe checks it before opening the browser, because a run on a dead or wrong-country IP costs more than one that never started. If you see a proxy error, fix the line and retry (see Proxy troubleshooting). If it isn't the proxy, opening a profile is a full browser and needs memory — close a few others if your machine is low on RAM. When the app itself fails to start: Reinstall Orbe. Orbe keeps a local diagnostic log on your computer; it is not sent anywhere.

My profile won't open and says "Declares Windows 10 but has the Windows 11-only font (Segoe UI Variable)". What do I do?

This is a known problem: on a Windows 11 computer, some profiles created as Windows 10 can't be opened. Profiles that have opened before are not affected. Workaround: create new profiles as Windows 11 on your Windows 11 computer. You don't need to delete the Windows 10 profiles you already have.

My proxy won't connect

Test the exact line host:port:user:pass with your provider first. Check the type (HTTP vs SOCKS5) matches what the provider issued, that the endpoint is in the country you expect, and that the credentials are current. The Proxy page has a symptom table. A dropped home connection is different — if your own network blips while a profile is already open, Orbe keeps it usable rather than locking you out.

The browser didn't update

Updates download quietly in the background and apply only when all profiles are closed — so an update can't change the browser under a running account. Close every profile and restart Orbe to let a pending update apply. Updates are verified (SHA-256) before they are applied, and the previous version is kept so a bad update can roll back once.

I opened a profile again and it says it couldn't get a new IP

With Rotate IP on open on, each open asks the rented proxy port for a new IP first. A port can change IP once every 3 minutes, and a change takes about 25–30 s. Open the same profile again inside those 3 minutes and the port refuses, so Orbe doesn't open the browser and offers Wait Ns and rotate, Open with current IP or Cancel. From code, the same case raises orbe.RotateFailed with reason cooldown and retry_after in seconds (see Automation).

My key or token is rejected

Check you pasted it in the right field: your Orbe key (orbe_…) goes in Settings → Account, and a proxy provider token goes in its own proxy field — pasting one where the other belongs is refused on purpose (see Key vs proxy token). Copy the key again in full — it's shown complete only once when created, so if you lost it, create a new one in your dashboard. Losing your internet connection does not lock you out of profiles you already have.

The honest boundary holds throughout: the proxy handles the IP, the browser handles the machine fingerprint — how you nurture your accounts is your part.
